I’m wanting to start a consulting business for people that don’t have the time or desire to go into the dealerships. I will do all the research, take the vehicles to them and the car is theirs.

I have never heard of an “auto consultant”. I do however plan on never buying from a car dealer ever again. After running a used car dealership for awhile, I now know how to buy a used car for a fraction of the price and avoiding shifty car dealerships.

I just came into a little money and need to buy a cheap but reliable car to get back and forth to college. Can anyone help? I hear that police and government auctions are a good place to start, so any advice is appreciated.

It is possible to get bargains at car auctions, but you have to know what you are doing. You have to be able to inspect the cars to determine their condition because you are not allowed to drive them. You must also know how much the cars are worth so that you don’t overpay.
